The Wyld Olde Souls are a psychedelic folk band from New York City featuring ethereal vocals and ancient vibes. With influences ranging from 12th century courtly love songs to Jefferson Airplane to Fairport Convention to Loreena McKennitt, The Wyld Olde Souls have created an other-worldly sound that’s all their own, linking the music of the past with the music of tomorrow (or the day after that).
Their debut CD, a six-song EP entitled Poems from the Astral Plane, was released on Parallel World in 1998. The CD received airplay on numerous radio stations in the US and in Europe and earned the band finalist status in the 2000 Just Plain Folks Music Awards (New Age category).
The group is currently completing their highly anticipated, full-length CD entitled Ensoulment, scheduled for a Summer/Fall 2010 release.
The Wyld Olde Souls are Ivy Vale (lead vocals, guitar, hand percussion), Rick Reil (vocals, electric & acoustic lead guitar, bouzouki), Melissa Davis (vocals, hand percussion), Kristin Pinell (vocals, flute, guitar, mandolin), and Naren Budhakar (tablas).
